The Danfo Buses have got to go!!

Hello my shmukums!!
Its Friday again so you know your imperfect gal has gist for you!
So here goes..
I usually get assigned to work on the Island because we have a lot of clients there.
I would usually just take the regular big yellow "danfo" buses from alausa to obalende or cms before getting to the Island but on this fateful day I had to be somewhere before actually going to the Island.
Fortunately, I was along Ikorodu road so I got to one of the major bus-stops and took the new ac blue brt bus with the driver in an enclosed driver booth that had a sign that basically said its a crime to assault the bus-man (In my mind I was like "nawa o!" ) anyway I got in and I had to stand in the bus because all the seats were taken.
I got to the cms bus-stop in about 20 mins and I didn't even realize that I had been standing the whole time.  I was soooooooooooooo (please forgive the many Os its necessary) comfortable, I honestly did not want to come down from the bus. I just wanted the bus to take me to my final destination.

The whole experience got me thinking.... Why do we still have danfo buses operating in Lagos?
I mean they take forever to fill up when its not rush hour and they park in one spot calling out to the wind and wasting the time of the people already in the bus trying to get to their destination on time.
The drivers of the danfo buses are sooooooooooooooo (again forgive the many Os) unruly! and they drive like they have signed a death warrant and don't care if anything happens to them not to talk of the innocent souls in the bus.

I actually discussed this issue that has been bugging me with a friend and he mentioned some things that made a lot of sense.
1. Lagos was not necessarily well designed to accommodate a sole and advanced means of transport
2. Politics involved to actually make the change take effect is mind boggling
3. The only roads being fixed and maintained are the major roads, the highways and maybe the major bridges. Most of the inner roads are not paid adequate attention

I do honestly hope that we get a Lagos that is at least Danfo free. I can still stand the keke napeps, at least those ones stick to the inner streets

Let me know what you guys think.

Till next time....
XOXO
The Imperfect Gal

HALLO!!

Hi guys!
This is my fist blog! yay!!!
I actually started a few years back basically because i had to get rid of the voices in my head and my friends were very concerned about the fact that I would usually forget that I'm in public and carelessly talk to myself... lol!

Any way i hope you guys enjoy the ride with me.
I don't plan to stick to any particular topic area or genre just anything that picks my interest.
